November 4TH 1947 BECKLEY WV

On A Lovers Lane (Wright Road) 100 yards from the Black Knight Country Club

Both Nellie Mae Rand and Elmer Ray Bailey Were Shot with A .38 CALIBER PISTOL

The bullet entered Ray's skull on the left side of his head, slightly above his left ear. The bullet traveled through his skull and exited through the right side of his head. Killing him instantly. Another shot was fired and pierced his right thumb. (not mentioned in his death certificate).


Nellie (NELL) was shot at A Range Close Enough to Leave Visible Powder Marks Around the Entry Wound on Her Right Cheek. The bullet then traveled downward, coming out on the left side of her neck and passing through A portion of her left shoulder.

After The Two Were Shots, The GUN-MEN slipped into the driver's seat of Ray's car and begin their final journey to Penmen Road…


So begins the mystery of the murders at The Country Club.
